Act II Festival
Stage Manager
Act II is a theatre festival, providing young creatives with the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience.
Led by creative director Amy Tickner, this year Act II offered over 70 creatives, mainly students and recent graduates, the tools and the space to gather and form a production team and display their plays to a number of local audiences and critics.
12 original shows were introduced, throughout the week of 8th to 15th April 2023 at The Space theatre, in London.
Thiya had the opportunity to stage manage, alongside a 7 people production team, including festival leaders, that were responsible for running the show. As a stage manager for the first time, multiple floor and backstage duties needed to be juggled at the same time, with the time always in mind.

An opportunity to join Anashe's house as she explores her identity and diaspora in this entrancing performance written and directed by Tatenda Shamiso alongside Lauren Tranter.
It is an expressionistic piece, exploring one character, Anashe, embodied by 4 performers. She finds herself in a state of transit as she battles feelings of estrangement, and sense of a community.
Thiya was casted to be in this ensemble. It was her debut at Camden Fringe 2021 – 2 shows at The Cockpit theatre and 1 at Etcetera theatre.
